Angela Evelyn Bassett (born April 15th 1960) was an American actor. In the last decade, Angela Evelyn has worked on film and television. Her work has been recognized with several awards, among them 16 NAACP Image Awards. Bassett grew up in Winston-Salem North Carolina, raised by an Aunt who lived in New York New York. Bassett's mother had split from her father when she was approximately five. She and her younger sister later moved from the city of St. Petersburg Florida with their mother. When she was in high school Bassett was a spectator of John Steinbeck's play Of Mice and Men starring James Earl Jones and decided she wanted to pursue a career as an actor. Following her graduation of Yale University New Haven Connecticut in 1980, with the Bachelor's degree in African American Studies, she went on to earn an MA (1983) at the Yale School of Drama. She met Courtney B. Vance, an actress who was also at Yale and they got married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. Degree in African-American Studies in the year 1980. Angela Bassett, who plays Ramonda the female protagonist in the action adventure film I. Black Panther: Wakanda forever (2022).
